Swae Lee Addresses Amapiano Saga After Twitter Post
Talented American music star and songwriter, Swae Lee has come out to address the recent dragging all over social media after he made a tweet saying he had some Amapiano songs in the works.
It would seem that South Africans are raging over Amapiano and how the world is receiving it. With some saying it has been twisted and bastardized, and others saying people are turning it into something else.
A lot of foreign artists are beginning to take note of Amapiano and want in on the dope sound. Just recently, Wiz Khalifa indicated an interest in the genre and was attacked by the Mzansi tweet family, with some saying that he was broke.
Now, Swae Lee is at the forefront of the attacks. He wrote a post that says:
“Wait till y’all hear Swae Lee on Amapiano”
He ended the sentence with a Nigerian flag and that was where the war began. He was attacked for “claiming” that the genre originated in Nigeria.
Swae Lee had to defend himself in a video saying that he say that with nothing bad in mind. He also didn’t say it was a Nigerian sound but only added the flag because he was part Nigerian.
He further addressed the disunity between South Africans and Nigerians, explaining that it wasn’t called for as we are all one. He further said that he has been in the studio and he was sure going to release something juicy.
We can’t wait to see what he comes up with because given his music track record, we know it would be a hit. Big ups to every foreign artiste jumping in and promoting Amapiano. Thank you!
