Zahara’s Awards Stolen In A House Theft: Talented Mzansi singer and songwriter, Zahara is devastated as her music awards have been stolen from her house.

The artiste travelled for the Easter Holidays only to return to a house burglary. She was heartbroken to find out that in her absence, her house was burgled and her awards stolen.

According to her, a total of 6 trophies were taken away and it hurts that people would even think of stealing awards she got for her hardwork in music. Zahara wants the awards recovered as she worked hard to secure them.

Speaking to the Drum, she said:

“I don’t care even if the person leaves them at my gate. I want those awards back.”

The South African Music Awards spokesperson Lesley Mofokengs said the South African Music Awards team is saddened by the break-in and they hope the thief is caught soon.

“We know what those SAMAS meant to her, and we are proud to be associated with an artist of her calibre. It is quite upsetting that crime has reached this level, and people are taking trophies that mean so much to the artists. The trophy symbolises her hard work, and we truly wish the trophies are returned and preparators brought to book” he said.
