Kwesta Attacks BMW SA For Sampling His Song Without His Consent: Local branch of International car brand, BMW has entered into serious trouble with SA rapper, Kwesta after sampling his song “Spirit” in an advert without his permission.

According to Kwesta, Spirit’s music video was used in running the video advert without his consent. He revealed that he had already gotten to the company’s headquarters to discuss the infringement before realizing that he would be needing an expert’s opinion and backing in order to properly address the matter.

“Had to school myself and get expert opinion and backing first.. Si down stairs bafwethu!!! Sivaya ngama ‘grootman’ abhaya,” Kwesta wrote

“Do the right thing!!! It took so much effort from so many people to get the rights to sample that song. We did the right thing because we understood the value of the art! This ad cheapens all of those efforts. DO THE RIGHT THING FOR ‘The Grootmans’ @BMW_SA,” he further added
